Standing still in Isles de la Madeleine

Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine are a string of tiny Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  After having this place on my wanderlist for years I finally took the chance to head over in early June of 2011.

Life is hectic right now and I’m longing for the salty air, waking up while the rain is softly falling down on our tent…

… and I’m dreaming of the fantastic coffees in Cap-Aux-Meules (I can’t think of the name of the place right now but if you’re heading there I’ll tell you where it is)

With the world swirling around me I’m thinking of a quiet, idyllic place that I had the privilege to visit. Today I am also remembering to stand still. Today is May 5th, and yesterday was May 4th, today my home country celebrates  the liberation of Nazi occupation after the second world war in 1945. It’s also my grandmothers birthday. Life is big, life is beautiful. Just remember to stand still at the right moments.
