It’s not just about being there

St Thomas, 2005

I took this photo in St Thomas in 2005, I pull it out every once in a while to remind me of the day I walked this street and took this picture. Travel isn’t just about being somewhere that isn’t home, it’s experiences, smells, sounds and things learned. Which part of travel do you enjoy most? I enjoy looking for beautiful things and standing still so I can remember them forever. Every place I’ve ever traveled to I carry with me for the rest of my life, which reminds me of this quote:

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard

Hope you had a great weekend, wherever you are.

  1. Cool photo Andrea. Travel is definitely a pretty awesome experience. I just like getting away from my regular routine and experiencing something different. Just seeing how different cultures live is pretty cool, but I also really enjoy all the different animals and just the scenery in general.

  2. I don't get to travel very often, but my favorite part is getting away from the day to day responsibilities and enjoying myself. I think it's also important to try to enjoy and savour day to day life too, but I still need to work on that. Love the pic, it's gorgeous. :-)
