...

I had an ambitious goal this week; I was  going to try and not spend ANY money from Monday to Friday. This should have been possible since I could have survived on the groceries we had until Saturday and there were no bills due this week.

Week 5 (Nov 15-21)

Monday:
– NO SPEND DAY!
– $68.98 Emergency Savings
– $36.15 ING Misc. Savings
– $62.21 ING Travel Fund

Tuesday:
– NO SPEND DAY!

Wednesday:
– NO SPEND DAY!

Thursday:
– $20.00 ING Misc. Savings
– $17.31 Baby shower gift
– $100.00 Extra Mortgage PYM *
– $126.97 Mortgage PYM

Friday:
– $73.92 Groceries (Cash!)
– $5.16 Cheese (Forgot! Cash!)
– $1.43 Coffee

Saturday:
– NO SPEND DAY!

Sunday:
– NO SPEND DAY!

Totals:
– $324.79

I only managed to go three days until Thursday evening came and I realized I needed to pick up a gift for a baby shower I’m organizing/going to on Saturday. I had completely forgotten about it! The good thing is that I had budgeted the money for the gift, $20, and ended up spending a little bit less on a great toy. The bad thing is that obviously I didn’t make my goal of a no spend week.. I guess I did have 5 no spend days but not consecutively. Because of this I also decided to pick up groceries (using cash!) on Friday instead of Saturday because the cupboards were bare and I didn’t make my 5-day-no-spend-in-a-row anyway. I’ll try again next week! I wonder what it will be like to do a 7-day no spend challenge. Anyone up for it in the new year?
